Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and liberal actor Ron Perlman challenged each other to a wrestling match for charity after a heated Twitter spat broke out Sunday.
It began with Perlman and Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) going back and forth on Twitter over the U.S. Soccer Federation, who voted last week to repeal a policy requiring players to stand for the national anthem before matches. President Trump on Saturday tweeted, “I won’t be watching much anymore!
After a back and forth with Rep. Matt Gaetz, Ron Perlman tweeted a photo of Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), and claimed, “It weren’t for him you’d be the ugliest politician walking.”

Senator Ted Cruz jumped in and challenged Perlman to wrestle Jordan for charity.
“Listen Hellboy. You talk good game when you’ve got Hollywood makeup & stuntmen. But I’ll bet $10k—to the nonpolitical charity of your choice—that you couldn’t last 5 min in the wrestling ring w/ @Jim_Jordan w/o getting pinned,” Cruz tweeted. “You up for it? Or does your publicist say too risky?”
Perlman responded: “Wait, is this THEE Ted Cruz? Holy s–t man! Is this the same guy let little Donnie call his wife A dog and his father an assassin and now kisses his ass? Yo, can I get your autograph man?” Continued Below
Perlman, however, said that he wants to wrestle the Texas Senator instead.
“I tell you what teddy boy, since mentioning jim jordan and wrestling is… problematic, why don’t we say f–k him and just make it you & me. I’ll give 50k to Black Lives Matter and you can keep all the tax payer money you were thinking of spending,” Perlman tweeted.
Cruz proceeded to call Perlman “soft” and accused him of being afraid to wrestle Jordan.
“I get it, you’re rich. But, apparently, soft. You sure seem scared to wrestle Jordan (whom you keep insulting). Can’t take the heat? Need to get a manicure?” Senator Cruz asked. Continued Below
