Sunday during an interview on “Fox News Sunday” with registered Democrat anchor Chris Wallace, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) claimed that former President Donald Trump “does not have a role as a leader of our party going forward”, additionally saying, “We should not be embracing the former president”.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) fired back over Cheney’s remarks, informing the House Republican conference chair that “Trump is our leader because he put America First”.
“We’re the party of Abraham Lincoln, we’re the party of Ronald Regan. We have to really take a hard look at who we are and what we stand for, what we believe in,” Rep. Cheney told liberal host Chris Wallace.
“I think at when you look at both his actions leading up to what happened on January 6, the fact that he was impeached in a bipartisan fashion, the fact that he lost the presidency, the fact that we lost Senate. We have to be in a position where we can stand for principles, we stand for ideals,” Cheney said.
“Somebody who has provoked an attack on the United States Capitol to prevent the counting of electoral votes, which resulted in 5 people dying, who refused to stand up immediately when he was asked and stop the violence,” she falsely claimed, as the 45th president immediately tweeted a video urging people to “go home” and called for “peace” before Twitter pulled the video message and permanently suspended him.
“That is a person who does not have a role as leader of our party going forward,” Cheney said of former President Trump. “We have to make sure we are able to convey to the American voters we are the party of responsibility. We are the party of truth– that we actually can be trusted to handle the challenges this nation faces, like Covid. And that’s gonna require us to focus on substance and policy and issues going forward. But, we should not be embracing the former president”. Continued Below

“Republicans attacking Trump are the same Never-Trumpers that rode his coat tails when it was politically convenient. Abandoning Trump will cost R’s the majority in ‘22. They just don’t get it,” she expressed.
Meanwhile, the Wyoming Republican Party voted overwhelmingly Saturday to censure Rep. Liz Cheney for voting to impeach President Donald Trump for his alleged role in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. The censure document accused Cheney of voting to impeach even though the U.S. House didn’t offer Trump “formal hearing or due process.” Video Below
