Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden held a press conference last Tuesday, delivering remarks over how he views President Trump’s coronavirus response and the economy.

Following his prepared remarks, Biden responded to questions from reporters for the first time in nearly three months.

Joe Biden was asked a question regarding monuments, and Kimberley Strassel, a member of the Wall Street Journal editorial board, responded by writing on Twitter: “Finally, Biden asked more precise question about monuments. Responds by saying that it would be ‘better’ if local governments took steps to take down confederate statues, but won’t condemn people lawlessly tearing them down.”

Following Kimberley Strassel’s tweet, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) retweeted her post and chimed in on Sunday, saying: “Dems support the riots. The vandals. The anarchists. That’s their base. And they’re terrified to offend them.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) responded to Senator Cruz and implied that Joe Biden was nominated out of fear of the Democrats’ base.

“Yes, that is precisely why the party nominated… Joe Biden”, AOC wrote. “Is it me, or is the GOP losing their touch with the conspiracy-theory-as-campaign-rhetoric technique?” Continued Below

Senator Cruz then replied to Rep. Ocasio-Cortez with five burning questions, informing her, “You’re the base he’s terrified of.”

“Do you support: 1) Tearing down statues of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson & Abraham Lincoln? 2) Destroying Mt. Rushmore. 3) Abolishing the police. 4) Acquiescing to ‘autonomous’ lawless zones like CHAZ/CHOP? 5) ANTIFA mob violence?” he pressed the New York Congresswoman,” the Texas Senator asked AOC.

Most recently, AOC weighed in on the proposed New York City budget cuts to the police department, saying the cuts don’t go far enough.

“Defunding police means defunding police. It does not mean budget tricks or funny math. It does not mean moving school police officers from the NYPD budget to the Department of Education’s budget so the exact same police remain in schools,” the congresswoman said in a statement. Continued Below
